Informed and Reformed
Re4mist Crime Kwetu Si Poa Organisation, was established in 2014, as a Community Based Organization (C.B.O.) and is registered with the office of the Sub County Social Development Officer. We are dedicated to providing social-emotional support to incarcerated adults, released prisoners, highly at-risk youth and teen parents in order to significantly alter their life course.
These we do by offering the following services:
A good number of Kenyans are behind bars. Of these, a many are released back into society. It is critical for the health of these individuals, their families and our communities that they be given the tools to heal and live productive lives. Our Released Prisoner Vocational Program empowers released prisoners to take charge of their lives, transform their futures and end the cycle of recidivism.
Our Prison-visit Program is focused on noting the would-be released prisoner and prepare to offer them support in their integration back into the out-side world as well as have the society welcome them back into their fold.
Eco-Prison Program is our endevour to fight global warming and advocating for environmental management. We strive for greener space and push for open spaces preservation. This challenge we take both within and without institutions and neighbourhoods.
Youth are at serious risk of involvement in the criminal activities. It is important that at-risk youth counseling be innovative, relevant and easily accessible. Our After-School Youth Program empowers youth-at-risk to break cycles of violence, addiction and negative risk-taking and supports professionals in helping high-risk adolescents change the course of their lives. The school drop-outs are encouraged back to school or adopt our Informal education or training.
Children born to teen parents face numerous difficulties. Many of their parents are caught off-guard by parenthood, thus lack the social and emotional literacy skills to raise healthy children. The negative effects on children born to teen parents are well known. Our Teen Parent Program in conjunction with Single Mothers Association of Kenya (S.M.A.K.) offers young parents the skills they need to become effective and nurturing caregivers in order to give every child the love they deserve.
